Challenge
A construction supply and equipment rental business works across multiple yards, trucks, drivers and job sites. An order can lead to a delivery, a return from a job site, or an equipment rental that needs to come back at the right time. Dispatchers need a reliable view of upcoming work, while each yard needs to know what is on hand, what has moved and what is backordered.
The day-to-day work crosses several teams. Staff pick quantities, assign trucks, plan dispatch and coordinate with job sites. Drivers need a mobile view focused on their own assignments. Rental equipment needs an ending notification, and invoices should follow what was delivered rather than the initial order alone. Purchasing, vendor records, warehouse movements and audit history all support the same operation.
What we built
We built an operations platform for orders, shipments, deliveries and returns from job sites. Dispatchers can work from calendar and timeline views, select job sites through a map picker and geocoding, and coordinate drivers and trucks. Drivers use a mobile agenda that shows only their assigned work and supports picking quantities.
Each yard has its own stock view, with stock movements, backorder tracking, low-stock thresholds and picking quantities. Rental workflows include notifications as equipment approaches its return date. Teams can manage purchase orders and vendor records alongside shipping activity. Invoices are generated from delivered shipments and emailed, tying billing to completed deliveries.
How we worked
We organized the platform around the movement of orders, materials and equipment. Dispatchers can see work in calendar and timeline views, assign drivers and trucks, and choose job sites using the map picker. Drivers receive a mobile agenda with their assigned work, while yard staff track quantities, movements and backorders for their location.
We connected delivery completion to invoicing so the billing workflow reflects the shipment that went out. Rental-ending notifications help teams plan equipment returns, and low-stock thresholds give the yard a prompt to review replenishment. Purchase orders and vendor records support purchasing, while the audit trail keeps an operational record of activity. We continue to improve the system through change requests as the team's work evolves.
The platform gives each group a focused daily view: dispatch can plan, drivers see assignments, yard teams see stock, and billing follows delivered shipments. That separation keeps the mobile experience focused while preserving the full operation for office staff.
Result
Dispatchers can plan deliveries and returns across yards, drivers can see their assigned work on mobile, and yard teams can follow stock, backorders and rental returns. Invoices are generated from delivered shipments and emailed automatically. The system gives the business a shared operational view from order intake through delivery, return and billing.
