Challenge

A website rebuild needs to serve the business and make it easier for people to find relevant information through search. The team wanted to understand what changed after the rebuild using measures that could be reviewed over time. Relevant visits provide a view of audience activity, Search Console provides impressions and clicks, and Lighthouse gives separate scores for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO.

Those measures answer different questions. Visits describe relevant traffic in the months after launch. Search Console totals show how often the site appeared in search and how many clicks it received over the reporting period. Lighthouse scores describe the site's performance across four categories. Looking at them together gives the business a set of concrete reference points after the rebuild.

What we built

We rebuilt the website and used Search Console and Lighthouse to review the results. The before-rebuild Lighthouse scores were 74 for Performance, 89 for Accessibility, 92 for Best Practices and 85 for SEO. After the rebuild, those scores were 97, 100, 100 and 100 in the same order.

Search Console recorded 81.4K impressions and 2.1K clicks over the reporting period. Relevant visits doubled in the first month after the rebuild, then were 80% higher in the second month. The measurements cover different windows: the monthly visit comparison is separate from the full-period Search Console totals.

How we worked

We framed the review around the reported measurements rather than projecting an outcome beyond them. The month-one and month-two visit changes show how relevant traffic moved after the rebuild. The Search Console figures put impressions and clicks over the full reporting period in view. Lighthouse scores compare the four categories before and after the new site.

Keeping the categories together makes it easier for a business owner to review the result without treating one metric as a substitute for another. Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO each have their own before-and-after scores. Visits, impressions and clicks describe audience activity from separate measurements. The existing article expands on the search results and their context.

These measurements provide a practical baseline for continued review after launch. A business owner can compare monthly relevant visits with the full-period search totals, then review whether site scores moved across each Lighthouse category. The article preserves broader interpretation of search behavior and results for readers who want that context.

Result

Relevant visits doubled in the first month after the rebuild and were 80% higher in the second month. Search Console recorded 81.4K impressions and 2.1K clicks over the period. Lighthouse moved from 74, 89, 92 and 85 to 97, 100, 100 and 100 for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO. Read the existing article about the SEO results for its full context.
